Lancelot Andrewes Southwark and Newington Deanery

Bulletin 24 – Tuesday 22 September 2020

To all clergy in the Diocese of Southwark, copied to Lay Ministers, Parish Secretaries, Churchwardens, Deanery Lay Chairs and Deanery Secretaries

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We hope that you are keeping well and that you are enjoying what may well be the last of the summer sunshine. As you may have seen, the Government has developed a QR code for track and trace and we want to commend it to you.

QR code for Track and Trace:

From Thursday 24 September, businesses and venues that are already required to collect visitor details for test and trace must display the NHS QR code posters for visitors using the new NHS app.

The posters will display a unique QR code for your premises, so app users can simply scan the poster to ‘check-in’ for test and trace purposes.

As you will see from the FAQs places of worship are included in this so please read the FAQs about what is required and use this tool to generate your QR code posters
The code is easy to generate and a poster is sent to your email address for printing and display.

Clearly there may be some who do not have a smart phone and so cannot use this and so it will be necessary to continue with whatever other arrangements you have already made for ensuring that you have the information necessary for Track and Trace.

With our very best wishes to you all,

The Coronavirus Task Group

(Bishop Christopher, the Very Revd Andrew Nunn, the Venerable Alastair Cutting, Ruth Martin and the Revd Canon Wendy Robins)

As a result of the coronavirus my colleagues and I are working from home until the restrictions are lifted.  My office number is diverted to my mobile and we are still here to deal with emails and requests from our parishes.
