Deanery Chapter and Other Things…

Dear friends
A small number of us had a very good discussion at chapter this afternoon on our priorities and where we think we are in relation to the diocesan and national church priority to tackle racism. One idea which I think it would be particularly valuable to explore further was that we might tailor some training for our own needs to equip some of our people to develop their pastoral, evangelistic and teaching skills.
Please also pray for Michael Rawson who is about to undergo surgery for prostate cancer and will be off for between 6 to 8 weeks thereafter. Michael is in the best possible hands at St Thomas’s and thankfully his illness has been identified at a very early stage when it is treatable but he and Neil will be very glad of our prayers.
Three other things:
- our deanery synod is on 24 June at 7pm by zoom. We will be circulating to all those for whom we have contact details but as ever I would be very grateful if you could ensure your reps are aware and also that you let Kirsty Burns (kirsty@stgeorge-themartyr.co.uk) have the names of anyone who was elected at a recent APCM. The zoom details are:

- Please remember to promote our deanery Living in Love and Faith course starting on 23 June at 7pm. Anyone keen to attend should email Akin Akinwunmi at lasandeanery@gmail.com
- And finally please remember that we will be electing our diocesan synod lay and clergy reps on 24th June. Nominations are not restricted to those on deanery synod. Please encourage people to stand. There are nominations forms and information in this link.
